Köppen climate type:
A group of 5 Au-Fe claims located in sec. 16, T2S, R11W, less than ½ mile NW of the Bill Taft shaft, SE of Clanton Well, on BLM-administered land. Discovered in early 1931, and owned by, Messrs. Chas. Davis, C. LaMar, and H. Ammeter.
Mineralization is silicified, gold-bearing zone that strikes slightly N. of E. and dips 50ºN., and is 2½ feet (0.76 meters) wide. It consists of bunches or lenses of quartz alternating with streaks, up to a few inches thick, of brown and black iron oxide. Wall rock contains considerable sericite, quartz and chlorite. Some vein quartz showed banding, but much of it is cellular and abundantly stained with iron oxide.
Workings include a few shallow cuts. No production record.
Assayed at $40 to $139 per ton.
