Geology: At sam loc 776 a shaft & open prospect explore a n20w, 50s W striking oxid. & fractured zone in a lt blue-gry sericitized intermediate volc? rk or sub-intrusive. The shaft does not appear to follow the structure unless it intercepts it at depth. Both workings are in a resistant otcp of Fe-stained, fractured & jointed altered, volc. With silic grndmass, oxid mafics, & kaolin or sericitized plag. Phenos. The otcp shows a number of lo W shears which are minor in scale. The host rk is brxiated & contains some pyrite ghosts & oxid. Xtals. The shears are flat lying & undulatory. A system or joints is developed which dips to the e. Qtzite? brx. With silic & Fe-ox was found on dump & included in sample. Sample shows, pyrite ghosts & pockets of sercite, feldspars are replaced by sericite in volc samples. Extensive trenches of E of sam loc are in qtzite & metapelitic alluvium. Dump rk shows some, flourite coatings & poss. Qtz vein material.
