Ref.: Personal collection (Matthew Neuzil)

Was discovered in the fall of 2000 by Allan Douglas and other Monteagle Township employees working on improving the road buckling during winter traffic. Geology is complex here. The vein cut granite and graphite marble.

Mineralogy was in a vein mainly under the road now. Minerals included amethyst (depleted), drusy quartz, hematite coatings, goethite, apatite, fluorite (small yellow possibly depleted), calcite (dogtooth xls), diopside, phlogopite, and diopside.

Colour: Reddish opaque
Description: Very nice crystals. The Resident Geologist called it a unique occurence.
