Amygdaloidal melaphyres outcrop in a geological sequence typical for the Apuseni Mountains on the edge of Upper Jurassic limestones (Măgurile Băiței). Outcrops located to the east of the main road 706A and south of the limestone massif tower over the village. There are also traces of old mining (?) in the form of two inconspicuous adits in the exposure right next to the playing field.

In terms of mineralogical composition, there is a series of rocks that differ significantly from augite porphyries. Since they are no longer fresh, no specific name can be given for them. They do not contain augite, but only hornblende, which lies in individual crystals and irregular irrigated grains in a partly dense, partly crystalline-granular ground mass. They also appear to be mostly amygdaloidal in development. A rock from Kraczunyesd belongs to this category....The amygdaloidal rocks are...decomposed and offer absolutely no clues to identifying their components. Their color varies greatly; there are light brown, light and dark gray to almost black, some of which are very dense and some of which are granular. The amygdule spaces contained in them are filled with chalcedony, calcite, zeolites, Grünerde (celadonite) and rarely even with iron pyrite, which minerals also fill the cracks and fissures that frequently cross the matrix.
