Numerous magnesite mines - „Szczęść Boże”, „Grochów I”, „Grochów II”, „Grochów III”, „Konstanty” (Constantin), „Anna”, „Kojancin”, „Małgorzata”, „Klara” - were in operation in 1934 in the local Grochowa massif. Opencast mining began in 1959 and is currently continued by Magnezyty „Grochów” S.A.. However, mining/prospective operations in the area began much earlier:
* in 1819-1823 chryzoprase was mined
* brown coal was mined in XIX century in the area.
