Puits Sainte-Elisabeth


Three shafts were sunk on the site of this colliery.

No.1 shaft was sunk from 1859-1861. In 1886 coal mining was stopped. Subsequently, the shaft served as an exhaust air shaft. It was finally shut down in 1933.

No. 2 shaft was sunk in 1857-1859. In 1883 coal mining was stopped here

No. 3 shaft was sunk in 1904 and served until 1923 as a service shaft for the backfilling of the neighboring colliery "Saint-Louis". It was also used as an air shaft. After a landslide, the shaft was shut down and filled in 1933.
