Deposit: East-trending veins from a fraction of an inch to 13 ft thick (bounce, snow ball, jupiter mary veins) in another type (roosevelt), free gold is present in crushed, hydrothermally altered andesitic rock.
Deposit type: Epithermal vein, Comstock
Development: Mining activity centered in the camp douglas area between 1893 and 1903.
Geology: The veins have clean, sharp contacts with clastic rocks of the dunlap and excelsior formations. The volcanic rocks to the east, containing free gold, are hydrothermally altered, contain quartz masses and are possibly post-esmeralda in age
