Structure: Shearing, Fault

Deposit: Workings explore extensive fault breccia zone. Parallel shearing noted on either side of the fault, which is cemented with Fe-and Mn-stained silica. Fault appears to have served As a conduit for fine-grained quartz vein/sacchroidal aplite dike material (?) which carries very fine-grained, oxidized pyrite, chalcopyrite, fresh galena, and fine stringers of tetrahedrite. Very fine pyrite crystals are also disseminated in the quartzite. Portions of the breccia are gossany, almost "cooked" with patches and bands of botryoidal hematite. Fracture surfaces of both the breccia and quartzite are coated with yellow-brown, platy, crystalline jarosite, possibly with intergrown sphalerite crystals. The country rock in the vicinity of the vein is locally silicified and the breccia is argillically altered. Abundant Fe-Mn-Cu oxides stain the fault zone and country rock. The breccia has an abundance of very fine open-spacing between quartzite fragments and quartz cement. White powdery mineral in breccia is possibly hydrozincite.
