Structure: Northeasterly Pinson "Trend" (Range Front Fault System). Rocks Are Typically Contorted Due To Pre-Ore Folding. Fault Offsets In The Alluvium Indicate Post-Ore Movement.
Alteration: Decalcification, Silicification, Oxidation. Decalcification And Iron Oxide Staining Are Associated With Ore. Decalcification Extends Well Into Barren Wall Rocks. Jasperoidal Silicification Occurs Locally.
Commodity: No Ag recovered.
Deposit: Ore occurs in six sub-parallel strands that range in thickness from 5 ft. To 50 ft. And typically have a pinch-and-swell or cymoid loop morphology. This record based on published article by foster and kretschmer (1991) and data supplied by joseph foster (pinson mine geologist) on a mrds questionnaire, march 1992. ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Deposit type: Carbonate-hosted Au-Ag
Development: Discovered under shallo W alluvium in 1983 by stepout drilling along strike northeast from the pinson a-zone orebody. A small test pit was excavated in 1990. ; econ.com: mill recoveries expected to be 85-90%.
Geology: Osgood mountain stock crops out 1200 ft. West of cx deposit.
Rock formation(s): Osgood Mountain Stock
Comus Formation
Ore(s): A Series Of Subparallel Faults. Favorable Host Rocks Are Unmetamorphosed Thin-Bedded Shaly Limestones.
