Alteration: Silicification Of Limestone.
Commodity: Light greenish-gray fine-grained fluorite
Deposit: Some fluorite occurs in tactite along a contact of granitic rocks with limestone. Fluorite occurs in a fracture zone between completely garnetized tactite and partially replaced limestone
Development: Claims were maintained by r.b. Sorenson from their location in 1939 until 1970 when they lapsed.
Geology: Lens of metamorphosed calcareous sediments is 300-500 ft wide, trending n W for about 1000 ft. Or more. Alteration is irregular; in places, limestone is completely replaced by garnet. Where the alteration is incomplete, formations are fractured and seamed with stringers of quartz. Scheelite occurs in the quartz seams, is sparsely disseminated in the silicified limestones and occurs only As occasional flecks in the garnet.
Ore(s): Tactite Zone Along Contact Of Granitic Rocks With Limestone. Fluorite Is In A Nssw Fracture Zone
