A salt deposit located 1.2 km (0.8 mile) NE of Davis Hill (coordinates of record), on private land. Discovered in 1905. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. Oil and gas production occurred during the period 1955-1962.
Mineralization is a salt dome deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 252; USGS model code: 35a.4 (35ad); Deposit model name: Salt domes: diapiric salt structures), hosted in the Late Jurassic Louann Salt. The ore body is a diapir with a depth-to-top of 243.84 meters. The depth to caprock is 800 feet, and to the salt it is 1,200 feet. Local rocks include rocks of the Deweyville Formation.
