Fissures tipically lined with crystals of calcite (up to 4 cm), dolomite, aragonite, and pyrite in the Sassalb dolostone and dolomite breccia (Romani, 2000).

The presence of calchopyrite and "tetrahedrite", with malachite and azurite as alteration products, in Triassic marbles is reported by Theobald (1866).



Note: the toponym Sassalb or Sassalbo, which means "white rock", originated from the white carbonate rocks forming the mountain.
