An area where Kaolin was mined for the porcelain industry. It had several pits known as 'Torneværket' (active from 1871), 'Buskegårdsbruddet' (active from 1871), 'Rabækkegårdsbruddet' (active from 1874), and a much later 'Rosvang-Nygårdsbrud'. Kaolin was discovered in 1755 in the banks of the river 'Grødbyå'. After some years with thorough inspection in the area, the Royal Porcelain Factory opened in Copenhagen in 1775 and began using Kaolin from Bornholm. The factory bought some local land in 1801 to secure the supply and owned the land until 1881 where the factory no longer needed the Kaolin from Bornholm.

Production of Kaolin on Bornholm continued until ca. 1990.
