Aragonite, in the form of white candle-like and coralloid concretions, white prismatic crystals, and blue mammillary concretions, and calcite, as whitish rhombohedral crystals, have been found in the rocky materials dumped downstream of Bardonecchia during the construction of the upper section of A32 motorway, between Savoulx and the south portal of the Fréjus Road Tunnel, at the beginning of the 1980s.
