Small hill (199 m) comprising mainly of Jegłowa quartzites. Archaeological research conducted near Jegłowa shows that mining was probably already active in this area in the Mesolithic. The obtained raw material was used mainly for tool making.
Rock crystals are found here in the gaps between the individual quartzite layers at the borders of the foliation, in small voids left by the kaolinized inserts of quartz-sericite shale or in kaolin nest and vein clusters. The largest pocket in quartzites filled with rock crystals reached 100 x 50 cm. Quartz crystals from Kryształowa differ very in sizes, combination of a hexagonal rhombohedron, trapezohedron and, occasionally, a double trigonal pyramid. Also druses composed of crystals grown on the quartzite surfaces, they are also often broken and show zonal structure, inclusions of chlorite, kaolin and tourmaline (Sachanbiński M. 1979).
