Metapelitic rocks with a high-pressure paragenesis in blocks below the Cima di Gagela (northern slope).

Clinopyroxene is close to jadeite end-member composition [Xjd = 0.80–0.91). Garnet (essentially an almandine) shows a distinct and continuous zoning with decreasing spessartine content and increasing pyrope content from core to rim, typical for growth zoning under prograde conditions.
