Mineral Claim 74/34 (dead) is located approximately 2 kilometres northwest of the centre of the town of Ravensthorpe. To the north, it overlaps the southern extent of the Mount Cattlin mining operation and it extends south to the South Coast Highway.
A closely-spaced line of shafts trend southwest to northeast across the northeast quadrant of Mineral Claim 74/34. It is suggested that one of these shafts is the source of the material from which the minerals at this location were identified. The reference stated that the material came from the bottom of a 27 metre shaft.
Krohnkite, mendozite, brochantite, tourmaline, chalcanthite, atacamite, pyrite and marcasite have been identified in the specimen from here.
The Simpson Mineral Collection of the Western Australian Museum contains specimen MDC 5022 from this location.
