Structure: Granodiorite Stock & Assoc. Faults & Fractures

Alteration: Oxidation

Deposit: Veins in sheeted granodiorite. Bottom of the shaft entering sulfide zone. Deposit discovered about 1898 and worked on a small scale until 1910. The deepest shaft is 60 feet. The antelape vein is in the main mass of granodiorite about 600 feet south of the contact. The granodiorite is sheeted approximately parallel to the vein, which strikes NE and dips 80 deg SE. A parallel vein with nearly vertical dip about 75 feet to the north reportedly contains high-grade ore where opened by a shaft on antelope ground. (schrader, 1935, p 29). The main workings are on the antelope vein (also called the jules verne vein). In july, 1910, a carload of high-grade ore assaying $101.00 per ton was shipped to salt lake city. Besides cu, the ore contains about 6 oz/ton ag, and some au. The bottom of the shaft seems to be entering the sulfide zone. About 75 ft. North of the antelope vein and paralleling it in strike, but with almost vertical dip, is a similar vein, from one to several feet in width. Where it is opened by a shaft on antelope ground, it yields assays of 47% cu, with 6 oz/ton ag, and $11.60 au/ton (schrader, 1912, p 123). ; info.src : 1 pub lit

Geology: Vein is about 2 feet wide and contains glassy qtz, oxidized cu minerals, some sulfides vein is sheeted granodiorite, bottom of shaft entering sulfide zone.
