Canteras de Doña Ana, Cártama, provincia de Málaga, Andalucía, España


Group of mining operations from which peridotite was extracted, the
peridotites from the area were used to make tiles used to build houses, later the rocks extracted from the area were used to build the Guadalhorce highway.

The peridotites of the area contain crystals of olivine, pyroxenes, picotite and serpentine.

Besides, some outcrops of dunites and pyroxenites appear.

Conjunto de explotaciones mineras de las que se extraían peridotitas, las
peridotitas de la zona eran usadas para elaborar baldosas utilizadas para construir casas, posteriormente las rocas extraídas del lugar fueron utilizadas para construir la autovía del Guadalhorce.

Las Peridotitas de la zona contienen cristales de Olivino, Piroxenos, Picotita y Serpentinas.

Aparte, aparecen algunos afloramientos de Dunitas y Piroxenitas.
