Alteration: Silicification

Commodity: Ore is soft and friable, highly oxidized, black where oxide of manganese predominates, yellowish red where limonite predominates, and dull dirty brown where these oxides are evenly disseminated

Deposit: Discovery year: 1870's two veins occur - main vein & baldwin vein one of the three most productive mines in the district, the lucky hill is one of the oldest mines yet little work had been done prior to 1920. Much of the production during the early 20's consisted of old fill recovered from stopes

Deposit type: Distal disseminated Ag-Au

Geology: Both veins are virtually encased in a roughly tabular envelope of dolomitized rock about 300 feet thick.
