The workings in the Notch No. 5 area consist of four adits, known as Tunnels Nos. 1 to 4 (No. 4 is also called the Notch No. 6). Tunnels Nos. 1, 2, and 4 are in basal Chinle sandstone in the Notch No. 5 channel.
