A former Pb-Ag-Au-Cu-As-Zn-Mo occurrence/mine located in the NE¼SE¼SE¼ sec. 34, T24N, R18W, G&SRM, 1 mile NE of Chloride and about 3.2 miles NW of Cherum Peak, on Bureau of land Management administered land. Discovered 1885. Claims in 1909 included the Elkhart, Argyle, Dumferlin, and Bullion. Other claims listed by the 1920's included the Victoria, Chance, Chance No. 2, Edgar, Elkhart Extension, and 3 millsites. Previous owners and operators include Theodore Comstock, J.H. O'Neill, American D. and R. Company, Darcy and Lee, and the Elkhart Mining and Milling Company. Owned by Harlin Sater, California (1977). Operated by Cerbat Silver Mining and Milling. Operated during the period 1901 to 1948.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. The ore body strikes N-S and dips 90. The mineralization is associated with a Late Cretaceous porphyry intrusion. Precambrian schistosity strikes N30E. Veins, fissures and dikes strike NW to NNW regionally. Associated rock unit is the Neoproterozoic Ithaca Peak Granite. local rocks include Early Proterozoic granitic rocks.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 792.48 meters and an overall depth of 152.4 meters, and included 3 shafts (500, 200 and 80 feet deep) plus a tunnel (adit ?) at 100 feet long.

Production statistics: Year: 1948 (period = 1901-1948): Ag (accurate): ^25 ounces (706 grams) Ag/ton.
