A former small underground Ag-Cu-Au mine located in the center of sec. 35, T.13S., R.2E. (Quijotoa Mts 15 minute topo map) on at least 8 claims, all with workings, 6 miles NNW of the Quijotoa Trading Post. Owned at times, or in part, by Childs; Brownell Arizona Mining & Smelting Co.; and the Producer Mining & Smelting Co.
Mineralization is irregular and spotty copper oxides and minor sulfides, with hematite and pyrite, in fractured and altered Laramide sediments and volcanics, intruded by igneous dikes and plugs. Secondary enrichment by oxidation and silicification.
Workings include shaft operations to 70.1 meters deep. There were 4 shafts at 230 feet, 45 feet, 100 feet, and 40 feet deep, and various shallow shafts and open cuts. Sporadic production occurred in the early 1900's and 1920's of some 500 or more tons of ore averaging about 3% Cu and 8 oz. Ag/T.
