A former small surface and underground Ag-Pb-Zn-Cu-Au mine located in the NE ¼ sec. 14, T.15S., R.2E. (protracted) in the Quijotoa Mountains, 2 miles SW of the Quijotoa Trading Post. Discovered 1885. Owned by the Julian Merger Mines, Inc.
Mineralization is largely oxidized, irregular, quartz lenses containing spotty sulfides and free gold along shear zones and fractures in Laramide granitic intrusive.
Worked sporadically since the 1880's. Together with nearby prospects and mines, probably produced up to 100 tons of ore averaging about 200 oz. Ag/T, 8-9% Pb, 1% Cu and minor gold.
