A lot of tourist attractions in the area of abandoned marble quarries including walking around the underground lake, guided tours in the partly flooded mines, bungee jumping, boats, cafe, souvenirs, etc.
Marble from one of the quarries was used in the construction of the stations of Saint-Peterburg's Subway
It is possible to get there from Saint Peterburg (Finliandskiy Railway Station) on the high-speed train "Lastochka", then on a historical locomotive (constructed at the beginning of XX century). There is also a direct train (Leningradskiy Railway Station) from Moscow (~15 hours of travelling).
