A former small surface and underground Ag-Au-Pb-Cu-Zn-Hg mine located in East-central sec. 17, T.20S., R.10E. (Arivaca 15 minute topo map), 8 miles N of Arivaca. First produced 1880. Closed 1937. Owned by the Silver Colorado Mining Corp. of America and Larsen & Wallace. NOTE: Coordinates are updated based on actual readings at the shaft collar, February, 2008, using a Garmin hand-held GPS unit.

Mineralization is irregular, partly oxidized quartz-fissure veins with sulfides, sulfosalts, copper carbonates and oxides, and rich silver mineralization. Minor baryte, calcite and cinnabar are present along with strong iron and manganese oxides. The wall rock is Cretaceous andesite porphyry.

Workings include shallow shaft and pit workings. Prospected and worked from the 1800's to about 1900 with an estimated production of some 50 tons of ore averaging about 120 oz. Ag/T, 2.7 oz. Au/T, 19% Pb and 2% Cu.

A visit to this site in 2008 revealed a barren group of openings without dumps.
