A Au placer occurrence located in T11S, R14E, G&SRM, on the West side of the Santa Catalina Mountains.

Mineralization is minor amounts of placer gravel along Cañada del Oro and tributary washes draining off a Precambrian granite which contains spotty gold-bearing quartz veins.

Workings include minor placer operations from the 1700's, and probably not more than some 100 oz. of gold were produced in Pima Co. The main placer area of the district is farther Northeast in Pinal Co. The Cañada del Oro wash empties into the Tucson Valley North of the city proper.
