A former small surface and underground Ag-Cu-Au mine located in the SW ¼ sec. 3, T.16S., R.4E. (protracted), 8½ miles W of Comobabi. Produced 1946-1949. Owned by Ernest Randolph; and the Picacho Mines, Inc.
Mineralization is a series of overlapping quartz-dolomite veinlike lenses containing native silver and spotty chalcocite and pyrite. Oxidized near the surface, in a fissure zone in Cretaceous (?) andesite flows.
Workings include an inclined shaft and pit. Worked during 1946-1949, producing a few tons of ore at about 28 oz. Ag/T and minor Cu & Au.
