Deposit: A. Hymer was a mining engineer. The daily oklahoman (feb. 7, 1935) had a story on him. He mined in the area for 16 years. This locality has been mislocated because of location of incorrect corners. It was called hymer shaft by hale (1981b, loc. 1, p. 310, 317).
Development: Ryan and winnett (1936, sheet 2004) first mention this.
Geology: Probably a diabase dike cutting the reformatory granite was mineralized. Possibly the dike was weathered and some of the metallic ions were incorporated into the hennessey sea. Possibly some copper and silver were associated with pyrite. Polk (1948) and merritt (1958) discuss geology.
