A former small surface and underground Mn-FeO-Cu-Ag-Au mine located in the NW¼ sec. 11, T.20S., R.7E., 4.5 air miles S of Baboquivari Peak. Discovered 1915 (World War I). Produced 1917. Owned by Forrest G. Miller and Manuel L. Obregon.

Mineralization is manganese oxides and silicate with abundant iron oxides along narrow fracture zones, in seams and veinlets, in a sheared and brecciated andesite dike cutting Cretaceous sediments. The ore body is 121.92 meters long and 91.44 meters wide striking E-W. Irregular and discontinuous veinlets from a fraction of an inch to 1 foot (30 cm) or more wide in sporadic areas 1,500 feet or more along strike of the fracture zone.

Tests on high grade samples containing 25% Mn showed a recovery of 81% of Mn in a product assaying 55% Mn and 3.6 % Fe by a combination od methods including concentration by tabling and flotation followed by magnetic separation (poor recovery by tabling and flotation methods).

Workings include sample trenches, 12 or more open cuts and a shaft(s) to a depth of 7.62 meters. About 2 carloads of hand-sorted manganese ore was shipped in 1917. Exploration and development since has not resulted in production. Ore was mined from one 25 foot shaft and a 20 foot long open stope.
