A feldspar-silica occurrence/quarry located in the NE¼NW¼NE¼ sec. 31, T4S, R2W, SBM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles/8,200 feet) SE of Nuevo, in the Lakeview Mountains. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

The Southern Pacific Silica Quarry is not known to have produced spessartine crystals.

"The manganese oxides of the Big Bullet manganese claims are in a gangue of white, fine-grained spessartine (R. B. Saul, et al. 1970, p. 961)."

Mineralization is a granodiorite pegmatite worked for clear massive quartz during WW2. Still occasionally worked for lapidary material, mainly asteriated rose quartz and asteriated smoky quartz. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks , unit 2 (Peninsular Ranges).Workings include unspecified surface openings (the topo map reflects 1 open cast mine symbol labeled "mine" at this point).
