Micaceous Hematite 'Shining Ore'. Closed 1902 (1903 according to Brooks) in favour of Great Rock Mine.
The small stream now flows over a level platform of loose sand that corresponds to the buildings shown in the 1885 Ordnance Survey map. An upright section of ironwork looks like it may once have taken planks to create a sluice. In the eastern hillside beside this level space is an open adit. There are numerous excavations in the hillside east of the stream including a open level, an open gunnis and a steeply inclined level on the southern ridge of the hillside and immediately above this level is a mostly filled in gulley where the heap of spoil that makes up the bank of the track contains abundant hematite.
