A former small surface and underground Cu-Pb-Ag-Au mine located in the SW ¼ sec. 5 & the NE ¼ sec. 7, T.15S., R.13E. (Cat Mountain 7.5 minute topo map), south slope of Beehive Peak, 5 miles SW of Tucson, on private land. Operated 1925-1929. Owned at times, or in part, by the Arizona-Tonopah Mining & Milling Co.; and the Buckeye State Mining & Milling Co. Operated by George Ankers (1920) and A.J. Harshberger; Buckeye State Mining Co. (1929).

Mineralization is varied: (1) Weakly disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite in unaltered Cretaceous rhyolite; and, (2) Spotty secondary minerals with partially oxidized galena with quartz in a fracture zone in silicified Cretaceous arkose. The zone strikes N50E and dps 70NW. Alteration is argillitic, oxidized. The rhyolite is unaltered while the arkose is silicified. The sulfides may be of late magmatic in origin rather than superimposed hydrothermal in origin. The sheared zone is found at a prospect adit 30 meters below Beehive Peak.

Workings include relatively shallow shafts (shaft reported at 145 feet in 1920), adits and pits. The shaft is open; there is no sign of the fracture zone at the shaft collar. The small tonnage produced in 1925 and 1929 averaged about 4.5% Cu, 1.5% Pb and 12 oz. Ag/T.
