Köppen climate type:
Numerous basic flows extending over 700km² and have aggregate thickness up to 400 m (Knutson & Brown 1989). A number of plugs, dikes and rare maars are spred across the province and Roach (2004) reports over 65 separate eruption sites consisting principally of nephelinite, basanite and alkali gabbro.
