Salinas de Rienda


Old saltworks, nowadays abandoned, located in the Río Salado basin. They consist of two waterwheels, two storehouses and some 200 pools, as well as heaters. These saltworks can be classified as one of the oldest in the area, being dated approximately in 1870. Production ended in the mid-1960s, although they were enough profitable. The crisis in the sector and the preponderance of La Olmeda and Imón saltworks precipitated its closure.

Antiguas salinas, abandonadas en la actualidad, situadas en la cuenca del Río Salado. Constan de dos norias, dos almecenes y unas 200 albercas, además de recocederos y calentadores. Estas salinas se pueden calificar como de las más antiguas de la comarca, estando fechadas aproximadamente en 1870. La producción acabó a mediados de los años 1960´s, aunque eran rentables. La crisis del sector y la preponderancia de las salinas de La Olmeda y de Imón precipitaron su cierre.
