A former Ag-Sb-Zn-Au-Mo occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 32, T20N, R15W, G&SRM, 3.2 km (2.0 miles) E of Pine Lake, along Wheeler Wash, near the summit of the Hualapai Mountains about 35 miles SE from Mineral Park and 16 miles SE of Kingman, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Owned by a Mr. Shoulters (period = ?). Owned by the American Flag Silver Mining Co., Arizona (1920). Operated by Hector Resources (1986-). The leading mine of the district (1881). The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a polymetallic deposit hosted in Neoproterozoic granite. The ore body is 1.22 meters wide. 2 foot wide vein of sulfide (sulphuret) ore. Ore lies in a brecciated zone and vertical fractures. Alteration is potassic, sericitic, argyllic, and prophyllitic with a pyrite halo. Local rocks include Middle Proterozoic granitic rocks.
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2,000 feet of shafts and drifts (1881) and an overall depth of 213.36 meters. During the period 1984-1986, the underground workings were dewatered, samples were collected, and surface diamond drilling was conducted to test the extension of the vein to the N and at depth.
