A former small underground Pb-Ag-Cu-Au-Zn mine located in the SW¼SW¼ sec. 29, T.21S., R.15E, on National Forest land. Produced 1928-1929. Owned at times, or in part, by the Squaw Gulch Mining & Milling Co.; and, Kolberg.
Mineralization is irregular, lensing quartz-fissure vein with spotty sulfides that are oxidized and enriched near the surface, cutting Laramide diorite. The host rock unit is the Josephine Canyon Diorite. Ore control was irregular, E-W-trending quartz fissure vein cutting quartz diorite. It dips 75N. Ore concentration was oxidation and enrichment near surface. Alteration was pyritization and gossan. Tectonic elements include the Salero Fault Block.
Workings include shaft operations with stopes. Worked mainly in 1928-1929. Produced some 140 tons of ore averaging about 8% Pb, 7 oz. Ag/T, 4% Cu and minor Au.
