A former small underground Pb-Ag-Cu-Au mine located in the NW¼ sec. 13, T.21S., R.14E, N of Alto Gulch, 6½ miles NW of Patagonia, on private land. Produced 1930-1961. Owned at times, or in part, by Abrams; the White Tail Mining Co.; and Drake Enterprises.
Mineralization is lensing and irregular quartz-fissure vein containing sulfides that are oxidized near the surface with supergene enrichment, producing some high grade silver values. The wall rock is a Cretaceous arkose in rhyodacite tuff.
Workings include tunnel operations. Worked sporadically from the mid-1930's through 1961. Produced some 460 tons of ore averaging about 10 oz. Ag/T, 2% Pb, 1.5% Cu and minor Au.
