A former small surface Au-Ag-Pb-Cu-Zn mine located in the East-central (NW¼SE¼) sec. 36, T.22S., R.10E, near Ruby, on National Forest land. Location uncertain; near the Austerlitz Mine in sec. 36. Produced 1894-1896; 1906.
Mineralization is a flat, shallow, silicified zone of quartz veinlets and stringers and strong pyritization containing sparse base metal sulfides, oxidized and supergene enriched in gold and silver. Fracture filling and replacement in Jurassic volcanic tuff and Cretaceous sediments.
Workings are shallow openings. Sporadic production occurred from the 1890's through 1904 and some 100 tons of ore averaging about 0.3 oz. Au/T, 7 oz. Ag/T and minor Pb.
