A small quarry exposing a small hydrothermal vein of quartz during construction of a place for wood-chopping.
The Korsbøen deposit, or the socalled phantom quartz deposit in Snarum, produced in a short period (2009-2011) some small, clear quartz crystals with distinct colored phantoms (both red and black). The red variety has been nicknamed "Goblin hat quartz" (Nisseluekvarts in Norwegian), by Norwegian rockhounds.
The deposit is considered empty and collecting are not longer allowed by the landowner.
