Albendorf
Coal mine 'Neue Gabe Gottes' Okrzeszyn (Ger. Albendorf) launched in 1836, closed less than a hundred years later, in 1925, probably due to the economic crisis in Germany. In the 1950s mine workings were of interest by Zakłady Przemysłowe R-1 in Kowary (See: Mindat Podgórze mine, Podgórze, Kowary) looking for uranium ores. Uranium was needed by the Soviet Union to build an atomic bomb. However, the small amount of this element in the deposit meant that production was abandoned. After this short uranium incident, the mine was abandoned again and this condition continues to this day.
Note: In the steep wall near the mine a coal seam is revealed
