A former underground Cu-Ag-Au mine located in South-central sec. 17, T.19S., R.25E, on County land. Owned/operated at times, or in part, by the U.S. Smelting And Refining Co.; Leadville Mining Co.; Calumet & Arizona Mining Co.; Needles Mining & Smelting Co.; and, the Andes Copper Co.
Mineralization is disseminated, cuperiferous, pyritic deposits in a belt of cherty Abrigo Limestone cut by quartz monzonite dikes and bordering a fault contact of Bolsa Quartzite and Carboniferous limestone.
Workings include a shaft(s). A total of some 5,000 or more tons of ore were produced intermittently from the late 1890's up through 1943.
