Calomel Mine; Thelma Mine
A former small underground Cu-Ag-Au mine located in the South-central sec. 17, T.19S., R.25E. (Pearce 15 minute topo map), about 1 mile NW of Courtland. Produced 1924-1929. Operated by Jas. Herron (1927).
Mineralization is copper and iron sulfides in small, irregular replacement bodies along a small fault in Abrigo Limestone. Mineralization includes oxidized copper minerals.
Workings include tunnels. Over 2,000 tons of ore were produced sporadically from 1924 to 1929.
Mineralization is a replacement deposit with spotty, oxidized copper and lead mineralization with gold and silver values in irregular quartz veins in intrusive quartz monzonite and in metamorphosed Abrigo Limestone near a fault contact with the Carboniferous limestone.
Workings include a few shallow shafts and tunnels. Sporadic, small ore production occurred in the early 1900's (1924-1929).
