Vizina lode
A former small underground Ag-Pb-Au mine located in sec. 2 and the North-central sec. 11, T.20S., R.22E, ¼ mile S of Tombstone, on private land. Owned by the Vizina Consolidated Mining Co.
Mineralization is oxidized argentiferous lead ores in the bottom of the Cretaceous Bisbee Group beds and top of the Pennsylvanian-Permian Naco Group along anticlinal rolls and at intersections of 'northeast' fissures and a dike with the rolls.
Local structures include post-mineralization faulting which occurred on WNW and NNW trends, tilting the basin NNE; "Northeast fissures."
Workings include 3 shafts with the deepest at 400 feet (1881). SHAFT had one level, probably 100 feet deep, and extensive stopes SE of the shaft. Stopes and the shaft workings parallel Toughnut Street, Tombstone. Over 10,000 tons of ore were produced in 3 years in the late 1800's, valued in excess of $500,000 (period values).
