A former small surface and underground Cu-Zn-Pb-Ag (Cd) mine located in the SE ¼ sec. 10, T.17S., R.23E., on the northeastern margin of the Dragoon Mountains, 9 miles NW of Pearce and approximately ¾ mile N of Mt Glenn. Discovered 1916. Produced 1942-1943. Owned by the Le Roy Mines Co. Operated by Skinner & Lewis.


Mineralization is sulfides in irregular masses in brecciated wall rock in a vein structure in metamorphosed Naco Limestone.

Prevailing rock consists of metamorphosed siliceous Naco limetone which, less than ½ mile father south, is intruded by the Stronghold Granite. The workings are on the gently eastward-dipping flank of a low anticlinal roll in the limestone.

Local structures include closely folded rocks, thrusts, deep reverse faults with superimposed oligocene metamorphism; complex Tertiary faulting of Paleozoic and Cretaceous sediments; and Tertiary intrusives.

The vein strikes south and dips 20º to 30ºE., and is intersected by a tight barren fracture along the back of the adit. Much of the vein is thin and weakly mineralized. It becomes 1 to 5 feret thick where intersected by zones of inconspicuous northeast fissures.

Workings include an adit extending S.30ºW., with some small stopes and short raises; and a shaft of undertermined depth. workings. About 248 tons of ore were shipped in 1942-1943, containing 25% Zn, 5% Pb, and 1.5 oz. Ag/T.
