An U occurrence/mine located in approximate SW¼ sec. 19, T29N, R10E, G&SRM, about 4.5 km (2.8 miles) E of Cameron. This locality is not listed in the USGS MRDS database. The geographic coordinates presented for this locality are approximate to the center of sec. 19.
Mineralization is an U deposit hosted in the lower Petrified Forest Member of the Chinle Formation. Ore occurs in a lens-like mineralized NW-trending scour channel. Fossil logs, carbon matter, limonite, gypsum and kaolin are associated with uranium minerals. Crystalline sulfur occurs in vugs in logs. Halotrichite, jarosite and metasideronatrite have been identified.
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open pit.
Production was 4,955 tons of ore @ 0.22% U3O8; 0.02% V2O5 (1956-1958, 1960-1961).
