Lead-zinc-(silver) mining district.

It consists of the Elisabeth shaft with several levels down to -165 m, the Ottilien adit (Ottilien mine) and the Sebastian mine.

FLÜGEL mentions already a Roman mining period. Mining declined in the 15th century due to the religious Counter-reformation. Activities started again in 1617 and lasted with several interruptions until 1901.

NOTE: Be aware that it is highly risky to enter the open adits due to rock fall and toxic gas in the shaft!
