Structure: Normal & Thrust Faults.
Deposit type: Gold on flat faults
Development: Over 5000 acres, leach pads, heavy equipment, houses, crusher. No activity during examination.
Geology: Working appear to be along a thrustal contact between pref granitic gneiss and underlying (tert) split mnt pluton. The volcanics and gneisses are cut by randomly oriented mafic dikes, which sho W propylitic or chloritic alteration. There is an abundance of massive quartz veins and veinlets. The rocks are highly fractured and coated of secondary cu. Minerals along surfaces and between grains. Fresh sulfides were observedfrom depth. Much of the breccia associated w/ the fault was cemented of quartz. Smith concludes the mineralization is associated w/ felsic and mafic dikes which cut the gneiss rather than the thrust fault, since the workings appear to follo W the trend of the dikes, and also because the faulting associated w/ the workings is higher angle, e- W and n65e striking & north dipping, rather than north striking lo W angle associated w/ thrust fault. The furthest north working (potential mine at camp thurman) is a set of verticle shafts and cuts following a verticle, 2 ft wide, n60e trending quartz vein, which is offset in places due to n-s trending faults. Vein is traceable for at least 100 ft. Several parallel to sub parallel veinlets are associated w/ main vein, which also
