Deposit: 5 thin clayed lignite beds the walls of 2 building at eastgate were constructed of zeolite-rich rock quarried at the north end of the deposit. There has been no other production except, possible, small experimental shipments: (parke.19723 ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Development: Zeolites were first recognized in the area by peter e. Galli, jr., in 1959, while exploring for zeolites on behalf of union carbide co,. Who located m-20 acre placer claims in 1959. Some extensive trenching exploration was done on the claims, but they wer allowed to lapse. In june, 1962, shell development co. Located 7 placer claims in the area of the earlier claims, As well As ii additional claims, but all claims had apparently lapsed by 1971.
Geology: Uranium is reported present in a 10-ft internal in tert. Sedimentary rocks containing 50% lignitic units. One bed averages 3.5 ft. Thick and contains up to 0.06% u (0.1% in ash)
