Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen is located on the Monte Regolo/Regglberg plateau. In its large municipal territory, which includes a consistent part of the Val d'Ega/Eggental and Vallarsa/Brantental, various fluorite deposits are known. In the period between the middle of the 1960s and the 1990s, fluorite was mined from the Quaria/Kooreck-Case a Prato/Wieserhof veins in Val d'Ega/Eggental, and in Vallarsa/Brantental from the Maso Wolf (Vallarsa Nord/Brannental Nord) and Vallarsa Sud/Brantental Süd veins. Due to the absence of ore dressing plants and dumping places near such mines, the ungraded ore (tout-venant) was transported for traetment mainly to the dressing plant of the Prestavel mine in Trentino.
